Vale View has been part of our family for since 1850. The name comes from the view of the vale, which is due to the beautifully undulating valleys of our Yass location. The Yass valley region is known for two centuries for livestock production and is one of the most productive agriculture lands in Australia.
We are located 15km from Yass and 40km from Canberra in southern New South Wales.
The property is full of history spanning back to days of George William Merriman and his success breeding fine wool Merinos. One of the most significant features of the property is its heritage listed brick wool shed built in the 1918 from handmade local bricks. Still functioning as a six stand shearing shed, it is a hive of activity much of the year.
During their show years, the Vale View sheep, cattle and wool lines had great success winning a number of titles including Supreme Grand Champion Fleece of the world. More recently Vale View partnered with Nikki of Japan to produce a line of “Vale View” fine wool suits. Allison and Landon are now the fifth generation of family farmers running the grazing enterprise specializing in wool, fat lambs and the production of quality hay for the dairy farms on the South Coast of NSW. With improved pastures and fresh water running through the property, Vale View is an ideal stock raising environment.
Our export business Yass Valley Lamb and Beef provides export quality, farm fresh and naturally raised meats to your door. We produce high quality grass feed and stock. All our animals are raised in a natural, free range environment. They are bred and raised with the animals welfare in mind and are free to roam around the paddocks in a completely stress free environment.
